【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesthesecurityframeworkforusingbiometricsforauthenticationofindividualsinfinancialservices.Itintroducesthetypesofbiometrictechnologiesandaddressesissuesconcerningtheirapplication.ThisInternationalStandardalsodescribesthearchitecturesforimplementation,specifiestheminimumsecurityrequirementsforeffectivemanagement,andprovidescontrolobjectivesandrecommendationssuitableforusebyaprofessionalpractitioner.ThefollowingarewithinthescopeofthisInternationalStandard:—usageofbiometricsfortheauthenticationofemployeesandpersonsseekingfinancialservicesby:—verificationofaclaimedidentity;—identificationofanindividual;—validationofcredentialspresentedatenrolmenttosupportauthenticationasrequiredbyriskmanagement;—managementofbiometricinformationacrossitslifecyclecomprisedoftheenrolment,transmissionandstorage,verification,identificationandterminationprocesses;—securityofbiometricinformationduringitslifecycle,encompassingdataintegrity,originauthenticationandconfidentiality;—applicationofbiometricsforlogicalandphysicalaccesscontrol;—surveillancetoprotectthefinancialinstitutionanditscustomers;—securityofthephysicalhardwareusedthroughoutthebiometricinformationlifecycleThefollowingarenotwithinthescopeofthisInternationalStandard:—theindividual'sprivacyrightsandownershipofbiometricinformation;—specifictechniquesfordatacollection,signalprocessingandmatchingofbiometricdata,andthebiometricmatchingdecision-makingprocess;—usageofbiometrictechnologyfornon-authenticationconvenienceapplicationssuchasspeechrecognition,userinteractionandanonymousaccesscontrol.ThisInternationalStandardprovidesthemandatorymeanswherebybiometricinformationmaybeencryptedfordataconfidentialityorotherreasons.AlthoughthisInternationalStandarddoesnotaddressspecificrequirementsandlimitationsofbusinessapplicationsemployingbiometrictechnology,otherstandardsmayaddressthesetopics.
